Organising a Walk-In Closet

A lot of people complain of having hectic and messy lives and schedules. Since the closet is one of the primary places that hold your personal belongings, it is always beneficial to organise it now and then. With an organised walk-in closet or wardrobe, you cut the time of choosing and obtaining the appropriate clothes or shoes to wear. In addition, organisation also helps protect your stuff from damage, crumples, and insect infestation.

The first thing to do when organising your walk-in closet would be to remove all of its contents. You need to segregate the items into casuals, formals, dress shirts, dress pants, sweaters, etc. Afterwards, you may continue the segregation according to colours, especially if you have a huge fashion collection. Hang those that do not have to go into the drawers. Clothing that needs to be hung must be grouped accordingly. It is ideal to use dedicated hangers for special clothing with delicate or intricate styles and materials. Drawers are best used for storing undergarments, socks, old clothes, pyjamas, and other items that need to be stored but need not displayed. Allocate one drawer for a specific group of clothes (e.g. one drawer for all of your socks).

Use the top of the drawers and the closet for open baskets where you place purses, scarves, ties, gloves, and other accessories. If there are spaces at the bottom of the closet, you may utilise that, too, for footwear, hats, etc.

Organising the closet is one way of maximising existing storage space. You will be surprised to find out how much space you conserve and how easy it is to locate items if you organise your walk-in closet.
