A suit is a sensitive garment often worn during special functions like executive meetings and job interviews. If you have to travel with your suit tagged along, you might encounter problems in handling it. It helps to know some tricks in this area.

A garment bag is one of the most practical storage for suits. You can use the bag which went along with your suit or buy one from a garment store. You may also get one for free from the boutique from where you purchased your suit. Just ask politely and hand them the receipt. If you travel by plane, kindly ask the flight attendant if you could hang your suit at the hanger station.
You may also use the dry cleaner plastic bags. Fold the suit in half, place it neatly inside the dry cleaner bag, and lay it in your luggage. If you do not have a garment bag or dry cleaner bag, you may lay the suit at the bottom of the luggage, place all your other clothes interlocking in the middle, and then fold the suit around the clothes.
Once you arrive at your destination, open out your luggage and let the clothes breathe. Whenever possible, hang your suit in the bathroom where you can run a hot shower that produces steam. Shut the bathroom door and leave the shower on for 10 minutes or so. Just make sure the shower does not dampen your suit. If this is not your cup of tea, you should bring a portable steam iron with you to eliminate wrinkles. Also, some decent hotel rooms come with an iron; if not, you can borrow one from the front desk, so try these options.
